Carly Léon is the director of Healthcare Policy and Payment for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. In this role, she collaborates with both government-funded and private payers to address many of the issues that impact access and payment for services provided by registered dietitian nutritionists. Ensuring equitable access to nutrition services provided by qualified practitioners is a central focus of Carly’s work and she leads efforts to increase utilization of medical nutrition therapy throughout the U.S. health system. Her current efforts focus on integration of nutrition into value-based care and supporting the Academy’s work with the American Medical Associations CPT® code development and valuation processes.
Throughout her career, Carly has been involved in various advocacy and payment related initiatives and is excited to join like-minded colleagues as part of the Accountable Care Action Collaborative. Léon holds a Master of Science degree from Eastern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Science, Summa Cum Laude degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Loyola University Chicago.
